Allart & Daniël Shine with a Successful Presentation at the FME Annual Event ‘AI for Industry’

On Wednesday, December 11, our colleagues Allart van de Schootbrugge and Daniël Bottema took the spotlight in the role of Buurman and Buurman during the FME Annual Event ‘AI for Industry.’ In an inspiring breakout session, they presented how AWL applies AI in machines and practical cases that perfectly aligned with the event’s theme: ‘From Strategy to Practice.’

With this presentation, Allart and Daniël demonstrated how AI plays a key role in innovative applications within AWL, particularly in the intralogistics sector. They embodied the spirit of Buurman and Buurman, whom we have linked to our AWL DNA. Buurman and Buurman always strive to automate and solve problems. Once they start, they persist until it’s completed and works—a perfect example of commitment. They always work together and support each other—teamwork. And, of course, they always use high-tech solutions—technology.

Their story was enthusiastically received and inspired other participants to apply AI in new ways within the technological industry. During the plenary session, AI applications in process improvement were mainly discussed, making this practical application of AI a refreshing addition. The annual event, organized by the FME Platform AI for Industry, brought members together to share knowledge and experiences about AI applications. It provided a valuable opportunity to learn how AI strategies can be successfully implemented.
