On May 22nd and 23rd, we welcomed more than 120 customers and guests to our headquarters in Harderwijk for the AWL Tech Days—a two-day event dedicated to innovation, collaboration, and future-ready technology.
Day 1: Industry Insights and Cutting-Edge Developments
The event kicked off with a warm welcome and inspiring opening by our CEO, Brand van ’t Hof, who provided an overview of AWL’s vision and future direction.
The first keynote speaker of the day was Mr. Jan Sedlák from Alstom. He offered a deep dive into the train and tram industry, highlighting key technology challenges and future developments.
Wilbert van de Ridder, innovation lead at AWL, continued with a session on AWL’s latest developments, including AI applications, automated welding inspection, and other forward-looking solutions.
Day 1 concluded with a compelling keynote by Klaus Löffler, CEO of Precitec, who shared insights into the latest laser technology innovations shaping the industry.
As tradition goes, the factory tour was a true highlight of the day. Visitors explored seven key stops showcasing AWL’s most recent innovations and project highlights, including:
Day 2: The Future Is Now
Day 2 opened with an energetic and thought-provoking keynote by Jim Stolze, AI entrepreneur, who explored the role of AI in everyday business and the transformative opportunities it offers.
Next, Wouter Zweers from AWL took the stage to present our in-house welding innovations and updates in intralogistics automation.
The final guest keynote speaker was Dr. Kurt Schmalz, a leader in vacuum technology. His talk stood out because it blended a fascinating company history with exciting new gripper technologies and future innovations.
To close the event, Guido Roncken, our COO, shared a personal and inspiring perspective on the role of AI in both business and life, emphasizing the human element behind meaningful innovation.
