As we continue to evolve as a global automation partner, 2026 brings an important leadership change. Brand van ’t Hof, who has guided AWL for many years and contributed to our growth for 36 years, will transition into the role of senior advisor. On January 1, 2026, Alexander Mulder and Arjen Vos will take on the role of co-CEOs.
Brand joined AWL in 1989 as a mechanical engineer and has played a central role in our development from a local welding machine builder in Harderwijk to a global automation partner with more than 800 employees worldwide. As senior advisor, he will remain closely involved and help ensure a smooth leadership transition.
Continuity and growth through internal succession
Both co-CEOs have built long careers within AWL and bring extensive expertise from various roles and international markets. Their appointment underscores AWL’s commitment to internal talent development and ensures continuity, hands-on market insight, and long-term strategic focus.
This step aligns with AWL’s broader transformation from an automotive-focused integrator to an innovation-driven automation partner that empowers diverse industries with smart robotic solutions.
Focused on long-term value for customers and partners
The new leadership structure reinforces AWL’s strategic direction, with continued focus on quality, reliability, and innovation. Customers and partners can expect the same dedication to long-term relationships and high-performance solutions that define AWL’s way of working.
A shared vision for the future
“Shared leadership fits who we are as a company. By combining our experience, networks, and strengths, we can focus even better on our customers, our global team, and the long-term direction of AWL. Together we are ready to lead the next phase of growth and continue building on the strong foundation shaped by our teams worldwide.”
