PARADAIM innovation project kicks off

The EFRO grant application for the innovation project PARADAIM has been approved, marking the official start of a promising collaboration in the field of AI-driven product development. Over the coming years, the partners within PARADAIM will explore smart ways to accelerate and optimize the development process of new machines.

Within PARADAIM, AWL, MechDes, Hollander Techniek, Van den Bos CM, Verbruggen, and HGG join forces with knowledge partners Windesheim University of Applied Sciences and the University of Twente. Under the coordination of Perron038, the consortium will work on a virtual product development process based on an AI-supported Digital Model of new machines, sensors, and control systems.

By applying data acquisition and AI analysis in the design, development, and virtual commissioning stages, the project aims to build a Digital Model that serves as the foundation for the machine’s “Physical Twin.” This approach enables design optimization even before physical construction begins - resulting in higher quality, shorter development cycles, and reduced costs.

For AWL, PARADAIM perfectly aligns with our ambition to integrate AI and digitalization into our development processes. It strengthens our ability to deliver innovative, reliable, and smart production systems to our customers around the world - faster and more efficiently.

The participating knowledge institutes contribute cutting-edge expertise and translate this into concrete technology demonstrators. Perron038 ensures that the knowledge and results from PARADAIM are widely shared within the manufacturing industry. Several workshops and knowledge events will be organized through mid-2027.

PARADAIM is co-funded by the European Union.
