Dutch political party BBB emphasizes the importance of SME initiatives during a working visit to AWL Netherlands

On February 20, 2024, Henk Vermeer and Tjerk Zeitsen from the BBB (Farmers' and Citizens' Movement), Wendy de Jong (Chairman of ROC-Netherlands and CEO of Oost NL), and Marco Smit (CEO of Horizon Flevoland) visited AWL. During this visit, the focus was on the crucial role of Regional Development Companies (ROCs) in strengthening the regional economy. The working visit specifically highlighted the catalyzing role of ROCs in promoting innovation, investments, and internationalization within the SME sector.

CEO Brand van 't Hof and Director External Affairs Piet Mosterd guided Mr. Vermeer, Mr. Zeitsen, Mr. Smit, and Ms. de Jong around the shopfloor, providing them with a comprehensive explanation of the high-tech machines developed and built by AWL on behalf of its customers, as well as the latest innovations. Brand van 't Hof emphasized the importance of direct interaction between policymakers and the business community. "It is invaluable that political representatives enter the workplace and personally experience the dynamics of businesses. This way, they can understand the actual impact of policy measures and incentive initiatives, such as simplifying regulations, providing space for industry growth, and collaborating with education."
